Sunday

Well 35 years ago today my hubby and I were married. Through good and bad times we have survived. I consider that a miracle these days. We live in a time of everything is discard-able. What is wrong with recycling? I believe some people are getting smarter and we will see more effort put forth to keep what is important to us. Sad day for all those who can not see this.

Maybe an ounce of common sense will go into choosing who one spends their life with.

How shameful that reality stars are put on a pedestal for wasting millions of dollars toward nothing more fame. Deceit in hiding ones self from the one you are supposed to love and respect, maybe will be recognized for what it is. Possibly sinful, criminal or shameful actions!

May all who suffer through this note be blessed with nothing but the best possible day they could have!!!!

Last month of 2011

Well this has been a stunner of a week. We lost such a wonderful man to depression and suicide.
Not near enough super things can be said about this gentleman who entered our lives through
television as a meteorologist. Don had a splendid comedic talent and a dark side dealing with depression that  not many saw. So very sad to see him go and we can not imagine the pain his family is dealing with now. Reach out to anyone you know who opens up about their depression and watch for the silent symptoms in others. Many individuals continue to believe depression is a sign of weakness. This simply is not true!!!!

Let us all care for our neighbors, friends, acquaintances and family.

Great day! Lots of fabric cut for new quilt.
Helped at Operation Breakthrough. Always
feels good to help someone in need. I have
always wanted to serve Thansgiving Day
dinner at one of the shelters (but have not
done that yet). I need to get on the ball and
volunteer at one.

I was reading a portion of Amanda Hocking's new book on her blog. I love her writing and am drawn to read more each time. If you have not read anything by this author, give her a try. She is a brilliant writer and I foresee a bright future for her!

I have spent the day sorting some of my crafting goods.
Now I need to use them. I have been looking for detail needle-nose
pliers. May need to go to an electrical supply store.

Hot, hot and hot!!

As you know, summer is not my time of year.

I am listing today on eBay and working on my little animal.

I love making the wire frames then molding the clay bodies. Later I paint and add eyes, fur, plus detail features.

I hope everyone else is enjoying summer! I am happy in airconditioned hibernation.

Sometimes I want to write and others, not so much.

I am on a path to find the TRUE me.

Am I happy with what I am doing?

Am I moving forward in the right direction?

Maybe I need to do more soul searching!!!

Hey, hope you are enjoying July!

I want October all ready!!

Today must be productive!!

Fingers are crossed!!!!!!

Awesome Sunday!!! Almost the end of June.

Who does not love hearing the fireworks start for the 4th? Always reminds me of the summer fairs and festivals from childhood.

Not a very productive art creation day for me though.

New beginnings are always exciting and scary. Today is one of those days. Getting busy for the summer. Wish me luck!!!

Tuesday, June 21, 2011

What a day! I received my new high dollar needle nose pliers.
Can't wait to try them tonight. It has been difficult to find quality
tools. They are all cheap made crud these days. I would rather
get quality tools that you can work with, even if it costs more.
I am starting on a new wire project tonight. I will post some
pictures within a few days.

Thursday

What a new day brings, all the possibilities. I am going to try and work with polymer clay today. I saw a neat idea with small stones made into little monsters. Thought I would try making a few of my own.

True Grit (Blu-ray/DVD Combo + Digital Copy)True Grit (Blu-ray/DVD Combo + Digital Copy)

Great new music I am listening to 21 by Adele. Give her a listen!!

Have you seen the new True Grit? I loved John Wayne version, but this great!

How great is it to drive down a street, highway or country road and see all the fresh grass with new flowers? Awesome! We are very lucky here as there has been enough rain to keep it beautiful, but not flood. I feel for all who are dealing with the floods and will be this summer.

Honoring those who have served our country

Today was spent placing flowers at the cemetery. It is incredible that we have this opportunity
to say THANK YOU for the sacrifices that have been made! The loss to all families who have
lost someone is unimaginable! Please remember the brave people who have served!!!!!!!!!!!!

No art, but lots of reflection.

Lisa's Bits of Art

Day 1 of my new Blog!  Kind of exciting.

I am an aspiring artist who won an art studio in 1995 and have been learning about art ever since.  I love working with textures in my paintings and oils are my paint of choice.  There is something incredible about the feel of mixing oil colors and the fluidity of applying them to the canvas.  I have begun working with various clays and am trying to learn sculpting.  I love making stained glass windows and have been at that since 1988.  I have become enchanted by some of the OOAK (one of a kind) artists on eBay.  I have been working with Pro sculpt recently and starting to learn how to correctly layer Genesis Heat Set paints.  As you can tell, I love variety!

I retired early from the Missouri Dept. of Corrections where I was a Probation and Parole Officer.  I now can devote time to my hobbies and I am loving it.  I would love to hear from fellow artists.

I am married to my wonderful husband of 34 years, Eugene. We are almost empty nesters.

I am going to upload some photos soon of pieces that I am working on and will be sharing my knowledge with all whom are interested.
